Blog# 6 Dating while in College.

Good Idea or Bad Idea?

Dating someone you meet in a college is okay. I think it all comes down to a different mindset and maturity level. You are introduced into an adult lifestyle that is much different than high school. This may be the most important perk. You no longer make those same stupid dating mistakes you did in your past. I feel like at this point some people should know better. You are less likely to fall into the typical traps. A lot of people have already felt the sting of being used, being dumped, being cheated on, and being mistaken. Now you know better. Now you should know what you want and what you don't want. As people experience dating different guys and girls of all backgrounds and orientations, you learn what you can’t live with and what you can’t live without. You’re honing in on exactly what you need in a partner. Here is a link of some dos and don"ts on college dating..... http://collegeuniversity.suite101.com/article.cfm/college_student_dating_tips

On the internet I think you sometimes have to be careful what you say. The Internet is different from one on one conversation. Everything on he internet is recorded rather people like it or not. Whenever someone post pictures or send a message, it can forever remain in cyber space for all to see. Especially seductive photos, it may be a romantic gesture to a boyfriend or girlfriend, or a playful joke to a friend. But what if your boyfriend and you break up, or your best friend and you fall out, now they have something that could potentially harm you in the future. As for myself I never posted anything negative on the web. I don't want anything from my past to come back and haunt me. Before college I wasn't a very social person. I'm not a big fan of any social websites. I think ill make the change to become more social but at the same time continue to pay attention to my actions as well as others. I think now I can make that change to start communicating a little more. It can't hurt. President Obama says "think before you post"

Defining the “Creative me”

I've done art as a subject in high school and of course middle school and elementary school. I always LOVED art, and (I do not mean to sound boastful) I was the best in the school at the time, regularly charged with making backing pieces for school plays and other events. When you are good at art in this environment, where not many others are, whatever you make/draw, usually a big deal is made out of it. I’m sure a lot of people can relate. When I went into High school, I didn't participate in art for some reason. I don’t know why. Maybe it was some psychological reason, instilled in me since childhood, that I always thought I wasn’t good enough , despite art being one of the things I was good at. Maybe I was following others. I really don’t remember. It could have been anything. I continued doing art a little, tiny bit here and there, on my own. As you may know, studying art in high school means studying art history as much as “doing art.” Not paying attention in art meant I missed out on the aspect. It also meant, therefore, that my knowledge of art history and artists was limited. I never knew the amount of hard work it took for these people to get to where they got. Subconsciously, I always thought these people were superhuman and I slowly developed the misconception they were born with paintbrushes in their hands lol, and whatever they touched turned to gold. My knowledge, thoughts and beliefs connected to art was limited to this, then. For me, this was art. You have to be a ‘genius’ to be an artist, if not, don't try. since I felt i was not born an artistic genius, I was petrified whenever I picked up the pencil to draw. Anything I did draw was crap in my eyes, even if it was a good drawing. I couldn’t conceive the idea that I might actually be able to produce something decent art wise. Now I feel differently. I cant allow this talent to go to waste. There's definitely plenty for me to learn along the way but eventually I know I'll get to where I need to be. With lots of patience, hard work and motivation I'll have the needed knowledge in no time. Choosing this course will allow me to reach my level of success. In 5 years hopefully I'll be living the life I've always dreamed. Maybe starting my own business and traveling the world. here's a link of a beautiful image being drawn. Absolutely love the result

Using the Internet & TCI Library as a Learning Resource.

During the presentation I have learned how to use the TCI online library. It is very helpful because now I can do research here for my classes. Also some study time when I need quiet time. There's nothing like a solid book, magazine, or newspaper to bring out a paper due. It's a lot easier to search for and find the things i need on the library site. Library online is now amazingly helpful. The scope of information I've been able to access is really going to help in my classes.. Also, It saves a lot of time and energy. This online library thing is so practical. why go out when you have all those books and more at your fingertips? it just makes sense to look it up instead of taking a trip to the library. the library has only so many books anyway, as where you can find so much more online. so why waste gas and hop from place to place trying to find what i need when its silly not to just look online first? it would be a waste of time unless i knew for a fact the library had what i needed. Anyway, Here is a link I found for one of my DMA classes. http://www.digitalweb.com/articles/principles_of_design/
I find this site helpful because it shows how to use and guide different designs and arrange different objects. For my computer networking class i found this link http://www.computerhope.com/ this site has a list of different computer components and describes each one individually. making it easier to understand. Here's a site for my English/writing class and also for every other class i listed above http://www.how-to-study.com/ this site helps and shows you better ways to study. that along with brushing up on different problem areas in each subject.
